Today
my son, now a young man, asked about changes in his relationships with longtime
friends and other people in his life. I said that I had felt this way before
and that, every once in a while, I still do. I told him that sometimes you begin
to discover who you are and what you want in life. You have changed into the
person who you are now on the way to who you will become. Suddenly you realize
that some of the people you’ve known all your life may not see things as you do
and might have chosen a different path. So, you hold on to the good memories,
but you know that you must move on.
